Glimmer Of What’s To Come

A bud provides us with a glimmer of what is yet to be. It bursts forth and we image what will be next.
Is your writing like this? Do you have a glimmer of what the story will be about first and then develop it from that?
All it takes sometimes is just a glimmer, a thought, a flash of an image to propel a writer into the story. One tiny glimmer can grow and grow until it becomes a completed manuscript. Always grab hold of that glimmer, even if you don’t use it now. Someday it might be the tiny grain that begins your masterpiece.

Istoria Books Looking For Submissions

Istoria Books (eBooks You Want to Read at Prices You Want to Pay - TM) is looking for submissions -- especially romance or mystery/thrillers.

The new epublisher, founded in 2010, has a small but acclaimed inventory where several books debuted in the Top 100 in their category on Amazon.

One of Istoria's books, an inspirational romance, has been in the "Top 100 Historical Romances" in both books and ebooks for several months.

Istoria is open to most fiction (sorry, no nonfiction) but is particularly interested in the following at the present time:
*    inspirational romance
*    contemporary or historical romance (but not erotica)
*    mystery/thriller

Interested writers should send queries with a brief summary of the completed book, the genre, the approximate word count and writing credentials to: IstoriaBks@gmail.com.

Istoria Books is a selective publisher. They offer royalty splits with authors, but no advances. They do not require authors to "earn out" expenses (such as cover art, editing, formatting and other costs) before royalties are paid. See their website for more information: www.IstoriaBooks.com

Remembering September 11, 2001

Author Artie Van Why is visiting my other blog (Thoughts in Progress) today to share his thoughts on this, the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy.

Artie was in New York City that faithful morning. He worked across from the Twin Towers and witnessed the tragedy first hand. Stop by to see what he has to say. He is the author of THAT DAY IN SEPTEMBER.

May we never forget, but grow stronger as a nation.

National Book Lovers Day

books-pileToday, August 9, is National Book Lovers Day, a time to celebrate all things books.

For those of us roaming around blogdom, that’s a very good thing.

As you celebrate this special day, try something a little different with your reading. Take a chance on a book that is out of the genre you normally read, select a book on impulse rather than on reading the blur or a review, and if you’ve never listened to an audio book – give a try, you never know you might find a new way to enjoy books.

What are you reading today? What book would you like to read that you don’t have in your TBR stack? Thanks for stopping by.
